- Client: Irish Studies at Concordia University
- Type: Student Recruitment Video
Irish Studies wanted to make its department better known to potential undergraduate and graduate students. The challenge was that it faces three powerful preconceptions: that Irish Studies is only for ethnic Irish students, that the program is very narrowly focused and that it’s not a marketable degree. To combat that, the School’s administrators asked for a video that would highlight the richness and diversity of the program and its warm supportive atmosphere while showing off its array of financial awards and travel possibilities. Our big challenge was fitting all of the perks into one short video!
We met with the School’s principal and faculty to work out key points that needed to be addressed by the video. They helped us identify key potential faculty and student advocates and filming opportunities. We consulted regularly through the scripting and editing process, resulting in a lively, engaging video that now lives on the splash page of the faculty’s website.
“We found the experience working with Picture This to be professional and flexible. They understood what we wanted to communicate to audiences and provided sensible advice on how to do so. We are very pleased with the end product, as the video captures the diversity and vitality of our academic programs.”
Professor Michael Kenneally, Principal, School of Irish Studies, Concordia University
